Taiwan’s private donation for Ukrainian refugees has reached the US $32.5 million

Donations totaling US$32.45 million have been collected in Taiwan as part of the government’s fundraising campaign to assist displaced Ukrainians, according to the Relieve Disaster Foundation on Thursday.
The foundation was commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to manage the donation drive.
As of 4:20 p.m. Thursday, a special account set up by the government had received NT$752.99 million (US $26.25 million), while donations on a crowdsourcing site had reached NT$177.37 million (US $6.18 million).
According to the foundation, the single largest donation received on Thursday was NT$1 million (US $.03 million)!!
The purpose of the fundraising drive is to assist Ukrainian refugees fleeing Russia’s invasion of their country, and the effort is overseen by the Central Bank, Financial Supervisory Commission, and Ministry of Finance.
