High-tech country Taiwan has cut off Russia from the supply of semiconductors! China wants to supply the semiconductors Russia needs for its weapons in the Ukraine war, but China is not in a position to manufacture these chips!
The Taiwanese company TSMC, the world’s largest manufacturer of semiconductors, announced a few weeks ago that it would stop production in Russia and also the supply of semiconductors to Russia because of the Ukraine war. TSMC manufactures specific chips used in Russia’s military and networking applications under the brand name Elbrus. Since TSMC is no longer producing and shipping Elbrus devices, reports have circulated that Chinese semiconductor businesses may gain from this development. But TrendForce. a Taiwanese world-leading market research company in the sectors DRAM, NAND Flash, estimates that the associated redesign and verification processes will take at least a year. As a result, Russia will have a tough time instantly transferring Elbrus chip orders to Chinese foundries, since China’s semiconductor sector will be unable to keep up.
Great news for Ukraine and bad news for Russia and its accomplice China.
