Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, remarked during his recent visit to Taiwan that it stands out as “one of the most important countries in the world” as it is the heart of the electronics industry.

Huang, who began his visit on May 26, was seen exploring a night market in Taipei’s Da’an District on Wednesday evening, where he engaged in an unplanned interview discussing Taiwan’s strategic significance in technological advancement.

As he browsed through the bustling market, Huang shared his perspective with a CTS reporter, highlighting Taiwan’s pivotal position in the electronics sector. He emphasized, “Taiwan is one of the most important countries in the world. It is at the center of the electronics industry.”

“The computer industry is built because of Taiwan, so it’s a very, very important country,” added Huang.

Reflecting on his interactions with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), Huang expressed anticipation for meetings with CEO C.C. Wei, affirming his frequent visits to the company. Regarding the advancements in artificial intelligence, he noted, “Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, including here in Taiwan.”

When queried about maintaining a work-life balance, Huang advised, “Focus on the most important things.” Later that evening, Huang joined prominent figures such as TSMC founder Morris Chang, Quanta Computer founder Barry Lam, and MediaTek Inc. Chair Tsai Ming-kai for dinner at Zuo’s Special Cuisine restaurant in Songshan District.
