At this time of year, Foxconn is ramping up its hiring efforts to staff the assembly lines at its largest factory in Zhengzhou. This signals the beginning of mass production for the upcoming iPhone 16 series, slated for the traditional September release. New recruits can expect to earn 25 yuan per hour (approximately $3.44), while returning workers may receive bonuses of up to 7,500 yuan ($1,032), as indicated in recruitment notices circulated by Foxconn.
“The peak season at Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant is here: lucrative opportunities for temporary workers and returning staff,” reads a job posting from a local labor agency.
This pay package represents an improvement over Foxconn’s previous offer for its “A” unit, the main team responsible for iPhone production, which included bonuses of up to 6,000 yuan ($826) just last month. Additionally, Foxconn is raising hourly wages for temporary workers at its Shenzhen campus to between 21 and 22 yuan ($2.89-$3.03) in preparation for the iPhone 16 line’s mass production.
To attract former employees back to its Shenzhen facility for the iPhone manufacturing season, Foxconn is offering a monthly salary of up to 6,000 yuan ($826) for the initial three months. Employees who stay on beyond the new iPhone production period can anticipate future pay increases, according to a recruitment poster displayed at the factory.
