Foxconn Chair Young Liu announced the company’s partnership with Nvidia to develop generative AI software for electric vehicles (EVs).

According to CNA, Foxconn is concentrating on three primary platforms: “smart manufacturing, smart EVs, and smart cities.” Liu emphasized that generative AI technology will be integrated into Foxconn’s digital twin factories.

Liu stated, “In the smart EV sector, Foxconn is actively developing HHEV.OS software for EVs and integrating high-performance computing (HPC) technology for the design, testing, and validation of vehicle projects.” He further elaborated on the company’s plans for smart cities, mentioning the expansion of operations with the CityGPT platform, focusing on automation and robotics as core elements.

Regarding EV strategy, Liu mentioned the expected completion of an electric bus factory in Kaohsiung by the third quarter of 2025, with a production capacity of 500 electric buses. He also outlined plans for mass production of Model B in the first half of 2025, with both Model B and Model C slated for introduction to Southeast Asia, the U.S., and other markets by 2025.

Liu also discussed Foxconn’s plans for next-generation communications technology, highlighting the expansion of small and medium-sized satellite platforms and the promotion of ground-based antenna equipment starting next year.

The EVs will be manufactured through Foxtron, Foxconn’s joint venture with Yulon.
