In 2023, Taiwan secured the 14th position in terms of wealth among 193 countries and territories worldwide, as revealed by Global Finance magazine. The analysis was based on the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita adjusted for purchasing power.

The recent world rankings from the magazine positioned Ireland as the wealthiest country globally, followed by Luxembourg (2), Singapore (3), Qatar (4), Macao (5), United Arab Emirates (6), Switzerland (7), Norway (8), the United States (9), and San Marino (10), among others. Noteworthy positions also include Brunei Darussalam (11), Hong Kong (12), and Denmark (13).

In the context of other major economies, Germany secured the 19th spot, South Korea at 30th, the United Kingdom at 31st, Japan at 38th, Russia at 60th, and China at 77th, according to the magazine’s report.

Global Finance emphasized that these rankings are derived from GDP per capita data provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with adjustments made to consider inflation rates and the cost of local goods and services in each respective economy.
