According to Nikkei Asia, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has approached its main iPhone supplier, Foxconn (OTCPK:FXCOF), to discuss building artificial intelligence servers in Taiwan for Apple’s internal use.

The order, intended to boost Apple’s (AAPL) computing power, is expected to be relatively modest in scale.

However, sources noted that Foxconn’s (OTCPK:FXCOF) capacity to meet Apple’s (AAPL) server demands could be constrained, as the company is also the top producer of Nvidia’s (NVDA) AI servers.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd., known as Foxconn Technology Group, is a Taiwanese multinational contract manufacturer of electronic products; it is the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronic products and is one of the largest employers worldwide.
